Textile jewellery made of used jeans is a project of 1st year students of the Department of Textile and Fashion Design<\/strong><\/a>. Students have studied the importance of the recycling process, history and usefulness of jeans (denim) and world cultural heritage of jewellery<\/strong>, all through the texture as one of the main media of textile design. Texture<\/strong> is manifested in many different variations: from knitting and weaving to cutting, knotting, folding, tearing, pleating, quilting, composing of small parts, and other design and modeling techniques. Textile jewellery is made of worn-out jeans, denim skirts and shirts, with some of the original details reused (like zippers, metal buttons, pocket parts). Other new details were carefully added to meaningfully complete the overall design. Throughout the work process students approached the design with hard work, patience and precision. They have learned about the importance and value of handwork, unique artisanal making and meaningful use of waste materials that is striving towards a sustainable design principle.<\/p>\n

Exhibition is located in Mitnica \u2013 exhibition pavilion, at 5 Sne\u017eni\u0161ka street in Ljubljana, from 3rd January 2017<\/strong>
