The historical framework of the exhibition goes back to 1951, a period when the bicycle and typewriter factory operated at this location. Students drew inspiration for jewelry design from the industrial heritage of past years, where bicycles and typewriters played a crucial role in the production of the Rog factory.

Each piece of jewelry is aesthetically inspired by industrial forms such as seats, wheels, frames for pony bikes, luggage racks, chains, typewriter keys, etc., and translated into sketches for rings, collars, brooches, bracelets, and earrings. In designing some collections, they also experimented with the assistance of artificial intelligence Ai – Gencraft and Dall-e. In the next phase, technical sketches were translated into digital models using the Blender program, and then printed using innovative 3D printing technology and metal powder material. The precision of printing details achieved by 3D printing with metal powder material is exceptional and allows for wearable unique final products. Through this method of production, students not only revived the cultural heritage of Center Rog but also revealed the intertwining of history and modernity through their artistic creations.

Each product carries the stamp of artistic expression and the effort of students, supported by mentors. The jewelry was created in collaboration with the innovative company NPPower d.o.o. from Maribor, which printed the metal pieces of jewelry and thus enabled the realization of the exhibition, where the past meets modernity in every metal detail. The photographs in the exhibition were created by the technical collaborator of KIGT, Uroš Batič.

The exhibition opened on December 15, 2023, and will be on display at the Jewelry Lab of Center Rog on Trubarjeva 72 until February 10, 2024.

Viewing the exhibition through the entrance on Petkovšek Embankment is possible on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Exhibition of 3D-printed jewelry at the Jewelry Lab of Center Rog on Trubarjeva 72 in Ljubljana.
