Arijana Gad\u017eijev<\/strong>, Assistant at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering UL, Chair of Textile and Fashion Design and a renowned designer, is this\u00a0year’s winner of the international award\u00a0BIG SEE PRODUCT DESIGN AWARD 2021<\/strong>, an award from the field of product design<\/strong>. The prestigious prize was awarded by the platform BIG SEE by\u00a0Zavod Big<\/strong>, Center for creative economy of Southeast Europe, the fouder of the platform. Zavod Big\u00a0systematically researches and awards high quality architectural and design production from Slovenia and Southeast Europe, recognizing the rich creation and potential<\/strong> in various creative fields: Architecture and Design; Art, Culture and Lifestyle; Sport, Science, Education and Politics; Business and Economy; Travel, Food and Hospitality.<\/p>\n

SLOVANKA<\/strong>
\nMODERN PRINTED TEXTILE JEWELRY FOR BODY AND HOME<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Slovanka project is a collection of printed textile jewelry inspired by Slavic folklore art<\/strong>, its floral patterns and motifs. While researching and admiring the plants typical for the \u201cSlavic\u201d territory, the designer has created the patterns for printing and designed the forms of jewelry. The collection presents the importance of the folk cultural heritage, which in its simple but sincere way praises the beauty of nature and shows interdependence between nature and man<\/strong>. Slovanka jewelry can be worn on the body or as a home accessory. It is a \u201cslow\u201d collection, each motif is first hand-drawn and fabric cuts are hand-sewn. The printed patterns are made with sublimatic print<\/strong> on white and easy-to-maintain woven polyester fabric, that remained from previous collections. Jewelry can consist of several geometrical elements<\/strong> (such as cube, tetrahedron, hexagon,\u2026) of the same color or different color combinations<\/strong>.
\nSlovanka textile jewelry was presented in May 2019 at the Textile Art Exhibition Zelena koreNit<\/strong> at Layer House in Kranj as part of the announcement for the 2021 Biennial of Textiles. In August and September 2019 the collection was presented in form of solo exhibition at the University botanic gardens Ljubljana<\/strong>. In June and July 2020 the collection was presented as solo exhibition within BIEN 2020<\/strong> event, in Kamra project space in Bohinjska Bistrica, Slovenia. This year the collection Slovanka was awarded with BigSEE Product Design Award 2021.<\/p>\n
