They put the textile technology knowledge acquired at the course into practice and upgraded it with a creative approach. Each student designed their own fabric based on personal inspiration by selecting appropriate basic weave structures, using three different types of silk weft and applying different weft densities.<\/p>\n<p>A special feature of the project is the use of hand-spun silk yarn*, which adds texture and expressiveness to the fabrics. The final works are based on the exploration of hand weaving as a technical and creative discipline where technological knowledge, material knowledge and precision play a key role. The fabrics are presented in frames the purpose of which is to focus the viewer\u2019s gaze. The framing highlights the structure, details and subtle colour nuances of the silk textiles, while at the same time removing them from their everyday functional context.
