Soil mechanics and structure foundations

Geotechnical properties of soils, methods for determining these properties with laboratory and field tests, applying the general results of mechanics and fluid mechanics on soils, the principle of effective stress and the consolidation process, the analysis of the stress-strain state of the ground for various boundary conditions, calculation of earth pressures, slope stability analysis, analysis of the stability of support structures, assessments of permissible soil bearing capacity, solving typical geomechanical problems (calculating initial tension, calculating the increase in tension in the soil due to loads, calculating settlements and displacements, stability analysis of natural and man-made slopes, calculation of earth pressures on load-bearing structures and the calculation of allowable soil-bearing capacity). Geomechanical research for laying foundations, the basic principles of laying structural foundations, shallow foundation (foundation bearing capacity, design and implementation), foundation of wells (well bearing capacity, design and implementation), foundations on piles (bearing capacity of piles, design and implementation of piles), design and implementation of construction pits, the impact of foundations on adjacent buildings.
