Soil Mechanics I

The content consists of the following narrow areas: the geotechnical properties of soils, methods for determining these properties with laboratory and field tests, the results of the application of general mechanics and fluid mechanics on soil, the principle of effective stress and the consolidation process, the analysis of the stress-strain state of the ground for various boundary conditions, calculations of earth pressures, slope stability analysis.
