The basics of mechanical engineering

Introduction (basic concepts of mechanical engineering); kinematics (crank mechanism, rolling, pulley, friction); dynamics (momentum equation, work, power and energy, oscillation, waves, natural frequency); fluid mechanics (basic equation of hydrostatics, communicating vessels, Bernoulli’s equation, movement of fluids through pipes, hydrostatic pressure on hard boundary surfaces); thermodynamics (the use of Pascal’s Law, Ideal gas laws and the equation for the ideal gas state, the first and second law of thermodynamics, gas work processes, steam work processes, real gases); tutorials: preparing calculations.
