Presentation

Department of geology is offering Bachelor and Master studies in Geology and PhD studies in cooperation with the Faculty of Civil and Geodetic Engineering.

Currently, the Department has three chairs, whose work is tightly intertwined:

  • Chair for aplicative geology
  • Chair of Stratigraphy, Paleontology and Regional geology
  • Chair of Mineralogy, Petrology and Materials

Department of Geology in its teaching and research activities covers practically all branches of geology:

Cooperation

Department of Geology operates a number of national and international (bilateral, EU, etc.) projects. In addition, active cooperation with international institutions, both in the context of scientific research and teaching activities, as well as student exchanges is widely established. Geological knowledge is successfully applied in practice in solving various problems, such as research environmental issues, cooperation with industry, monitoring the implementation of measurements under different projects, and more.
