Student develops in-depth knowledge of solving design problems, develops strong arguments for a clothing collection and researches new silhouettes. Student learns how to choose and combine different textile materials that affect the final appearance of a collection. Student learns how to define a target group of consumers and to distinguish between collections for haute couture, prêt-à-porter or high street fashion, and knows how to design collections for special needs. Student knows how to develop patterns and test them using experimental and real models, and selects colours, textile patterns and textures depending on the desired visual effect. Project work: individual experimental work enables the student to link previously acquired knowledge and develop new knowledge. Each project is concluded with a public presentation/ fashion show.
This course counts as a Foundation elective design course.
