SHIBORI DOLLS

From December by day and night at the Conservatory Center of Modern and Contemporary Art Mitnica, Snežniška 5, Ljubljana, there is an exhibition of students of the 2nd year of the Department of Textile and Clothing Design, OTGO, NTF, UL entitled SHIBORI LUTKE under the mentorship of the assist. Arijana Gadžijev.

Shibori dolls are textile dolls made in shibori technique. The students have made a research on various themes such as: the dyeing with natural colors, the old Japanese technique shibori, the meaning and influence of kimono clothing and the uniqueness of the traditional Japanese dolls. Each Shibori doll students have made tells us a different story and shows us the connection between the tradition and the modernity, between the east and the west, between then and now.

Students have made the seminar and tutorials on dyeing with natural colors with assist. prof. Marija Gorjanc.
