Research
My main fields of research are Geomorphology, Quaternary geology and Sedimentology. I am primarily interested in the dynamics of transport mechanisms and depositional processes of Quaternary slope deposits and the influence of geological setting on geomorphological processes and landforms. My most recent interest is in terrain visualisation and geomorphometric terrain analysis, especially in slope deposit of fossil landslides. This work is a great supplement to field work, which I enjoy immensely, and is also my primary method of data acquisition. Occasionally, I also work as a consultant in geology for commercial clients. I am actively involved in representing geology to the general public through popular scientific articles, interviews and lectures.
