B I O G R A P H Y :

Nataša Hrupić completed her high school education at the Poljane grammar school in Ljubljana with Matura exams. She graduated in 2007 at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering in Ljubljana, Textile and Fashion design. The same year University of Ljubljana awarded her with Prešern prize from the field of Art for her innovative approach in her research work titled City Shapes. From 2007 to 2012 she was working as a mentor and teacher of professional theoretical subjects and practical lessons at the Secondary school for Design and Photography Ljubljana at Department of Fashion Design. At the same time, as a professional associate in the field of fashion design, she participated in the renovation of the Technical secondary education programmes Designer, for module Fashion Designer. Between 2009 and 2011 she worked as a freelance artist and was guest designer at Slovenian fashion company named Rašica, where twice a year she designed knitwear and ready-to-wear women’s fashion collections. In 2011 British Council awarded her with Young Creative Entrepreneur Award from the field of Fashion as the first Slovene representative. In 2018, she presented her collection titled Invert at the Belgrade Fashion Week, where she received the second prize of the Fashion Scout South East Europe competition. Nataša runs her own eponymous fashion label and successfully presents her work independently or in collaboration with designers and artists from various fields both at home and abroad (Ljubljana Fashion Week, Kreatorji exhibition, Mercedez-Benz Fashion Week…). As a juror, she participated in competitions for young promising fashion designers and presented her work at Slovenian and international fashion summits and round tables. Since 2020, she has been managing teh independent exhibition gallery GT31Lj in the center of Ljubljana, where Slovenian and regional fashion design is presented. Since 2011, she has been employed at the Department of Textile and Fashion Design, OTGO, Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering, University of Ljubljana.
