LJFW NTF 2/4

On the 6th October 2020 collections of NTF – Department of Textiles, Graphic Arts and Design students were showcased at Podhod Ajdovščina Ljubljana within the framework of LJFW 2/4

GARNIR 2, HANA PODVRŠIČ, ANITA MIKLAVČIČ, ESTERA LOVREC

Garnir 2 has created a collection ‘We like to stay at home’ which represents a mix of elements that reflect the essence of home. Warmth, vase, teddy bear, blanket, button, smile and many others that share the same message: we like to stay at home.

Hana Podvršič and her collection ‘Phenomena’ reflects on the future of our planet. She drew the inspiration from a pessimistic post-apocalyptic state of Earth, as she wants to emphasize the uniqueness of our planet, nature and human relations, which unfortunately will not be appreciated until a phenomena would happen that would change our mindset completely.

Anita Miklavčič puts her childhood as a main inspiration for her womenswear sustainable collection, titled ‘When I grow up’. She made a research of silhouettes, colours, stylistic elements and details of the clothes she used to wear as a child, interpreting and upgrading the elements in her own unique style. The collection is entirely made out of second hand and waste materials from Slovenian textile manufactures.

Estera Lovrec is through her collection ‘Rex-pecting the roots’ sharing the concern about people not expressing feelings with pride, as she is wondering when will feelings become something positive – a positive trend. Her work reflects a mixture of different feelings and values, joined in harmony and displayed as a stylish concept of a photography series which serves as a tribute to the iconic Rexchair.
