In a world that overtakes itself, nature remains – silent and persistent.
The forest gently invites us to return.
A tree, a touch, a breath.
We long for objects that breathe.
For fabrics that bear the traces of dew, wind, light, earth.
Forest Breathing is a project in which second-year students entered into a sensory dialogue with nature. They entered into a sensory-creative dialogue with the forest as listeners and creators. They immersed themselves in the almost invisible structures of the moss, swayed to the rhythm of the treetops, observed the intricate world of mushrooms and, above all, listened. A material, tactile, slow process gave rise to textile objects, video narratives and spatial installations that do not depict the forest, but embody it. Knitwear breathes, crocheted mushrooms emerge, intertwined worms create spaces of play and retreat. Each thread carries the awareness that we, like the trees, are independent but always part of the whole.
The group exhibition Forest Breathing is a space in which textiles grow, breathe and tell stories, through hands, through fibres, through us.
