The ambient video projection The Inbetweens creates a continuous flow of illustrated figures that appear and disappear, exploring or influencing the viewer’s identity, perception and subconscious. The hand-drawn creatures embody fragments of an inner world full of inexplicable disturbances and contradictory states of mind, open to all sorts of interpretations that may reveal more about the viewer than the creator. The ever-changing nature of the projection is saturated with content and hidden, breathing movements; it evokes a series of momentary experiences that arise in the dialogue between what is seen and the feeling of what is seen. Thus we recognise in projection the dynamic relationship between consciousness and subconsciousness, imagination and reality.
