LJFW NTF 1/4

On the 5th October 2020 collections of NTF – Department of Textiles, Graphic Arts and Design students were showcased at Podhod Ajdovščina Ljubljana within the framework of LJFW 1/4

UROŠ TOPIĆ, KLAVDIJA FRELIH in ANŽE MRAK

Uroš Topić created the collection, inspired by the life of the Sun King’s brother – Philippe I. of Orleans, a notorious transvestite, homosexual and brilliant military leader. With his work he wants to present comfortable and prestigious garments, where otherwise practical clothing becomes richly embellished with various textile techniques.

Klavdija Frelih’s purpose of the master thesis was to create a line of jewelry titled ‘Before they disappear’, inspired by the endangered plant and animal species in Slovenia, using only materials and technologies that do not have a negative impact on the environment. Klavdija wants to show the general public how important it is to preserve biodiversity on the Slovenian ground.

Anže Mrak has created a sustainable collection E2DDF3, largely inspired by the circus, the issue of microplastics in the ocean and the technique of zero waste patterns. The circus characters represent the inspiration for each silhouette and the general atmosphere of the collections, whereas the problem of microplastic appears in the prints and the colour palette.
