Mineral dressing and mineral processing

Goals: upgrading knowledge on concepts, methodology and practical application of mineral processing and mineral dressing. Theoretical topics will be connected with practical examples. The course gives basics for designing disperse systems in practice, ability for cooperation in research and development and transferring R&D results into practice. Contents: chapters on characterisation of disperse systems, processes of enlargement and diminution of surfaces, separation processes of disperse systems, processes of mixing and blending, sampling, storing of granular materials, properties of raw materials entering a dressing process, separation techniques based on gravitational and centrifugal forces, dressing in magnetic and electric field, theory and technology of flotation, specific features of dressing raw materials for energy industry and minerals and special techniques of dressing and preparing mineral raw materials.
