Course progression requirements
Progression from one year to another:

  • approved previous year of studies, i.e. course attendance for all courses in the previous year. Other progression requirements are the following
  • for progression to the second year of studies: 60 ECTS collected.
  • for progression to the third year of studies: completed obligations from the first year (60 ECTS) and 60 ECTS from the second year.

The Study Commission of NTF may exceptionally approve progression to a higher year if the student has obtained a minimum of 30 ECTS in the previous year and can provide a sufficient cause. Sufficient causes are defined by the Statute of the University of Ljubljana.

According to the Statute of UL, a student may repeat the year if he/she has obtained 20 ECTS required for that particular year.
During the course of studies, a student can repeat the year once or once change his/her study programme due to failing to meet programme conditions in the previous programme.

After the third year, a student may, according to the statute, extend his/her student status for maximum one year if there is a sufficient reason for that and provided that the student has completed all obligations from the first and the second year of studies.

Mentors and tutors, appointed for each year, will offer counselling to students and direct them in selecting optional courses.
