Students acquire knowledge on the technology of making castings: making moulds, moulds and cores, pouring and feeding systems, melting and charge composition, melting furnaces, analysing and testing of melts, control procedures, designing castings by computer simulated mould filling, solidification and shrinkage and stress conditions. Students acquire knowledge on the technology of pressure, precision and centrifugal casting.
