Materials processing

Goals: learning basic forming techniques and analytical methods for studying deformation zones. Understanding the correlation between crucial process parameters and worked material. Topics include: workability, basic concepts of plastomechanics, boundary conditions and heat transfer and analytical methods; Basic equations of elementary theory for the analysis of major process parameters with examples of flat rolling and drawing, semi empirical solutions, analytical procedures and technology of bulk forming (forging, extruding, drawing, rolling), technology and calculations of sheet forming: tribology, deep drawing, bending, pressing, etc.
