Goals: understanding the relevance of measuring techniques for the control, analysis and operation of technological processes; Acquiring basic concepts of measuring techniques and methods and properties of measuring systems; Evaluation of the results with regard to uncertainty of measurements and statistical analysis; Survey of sensors for electrical measurements of physical parameters, physical principles underlying measurements of parameters; Comprehensive survey of the measuring techniques for the control and monitoring of technological processes; determining operation characteristics of machines and equipment for monitoring thermo-mechanical and geometric parameters of the material being formed. Since appropriate temperature is crucial for optimal operation of a technological process, special emphasis will be given to measurements and temperature regulation and relevance of the regulation technique for rational use of energy and quality of the end products.
