Slags and fluxes

Slags and fluxes are closely related to making new metallic materials, therefore they need to have such metallurgical properties that ensure the undisturbed course of single reactions and processes. Development and properties must be harmonised with sustainable development and environmental protection issues. The main emphasis is given to research and development that allows for upgrading student knowledge and generating new knowledge to develop new research methods in this field. Students will focus on the examination of phase structure and composition of liquid and solid slags, determination of their reactivity and metallurgical properties and their recycling abilities as well as into development and use of slags as raw materials for other applications.
