Goals: to understand the basic physical properties of common materials, e.g. metals, semiconductors, insulators, etc., and understanding basic physical mechanisms that are responsible for ordered or partially ordered structures and macroscopic quantum states. This is a fundamental course for special courses that require knowledge about physics of materials.
