Practicals in measurements and regulations

Goals: The student acquires basic knowledge in metrology; Learns some basic measuring methods; Gets to know the characteristics of different kinds of measuring instruments; Understands disturbances and errors occurring in measuring techniques and can interpret them; Becomes familiar with electric measurements of physical parameters; Learns how to process measuring data in the form of heat balance and understands the regulation of the air-to-temperature ratio that is an essential parameter for smooth running of most technological processes. Topics of the course include: fundamentals of metrology, static and dynamic characteristics of signals, behaviour of measuring systems, probability and statistics, measuring uncertainty, measuring instruments and devices, electric measurements of physical parameters, setting up algorithms for processing measuring data in the form of heat balance and regulation of furnace temperature.
