Hidden Symmetries explores the interwoven geometry of plants, trees and ecosystems. Plants and trees are the breathing instruments of the world, but beneath their surface lies another level of life – a subtle web of structures and patterns that connect the micro and macro worlds. Every tiny part has its place and meaning in the big picture. This order is not only visual, but also energetic – the code of nature, which is repeated through fractals and symmetries.
As part of the project, 3rd year textile and clothing design students investigated how natural patterns can be transferred to a textile surface. The resulting installations do not depict nature, but rather its hidden inner logic – as a material manifestation of invisible connections in the ecosystem.
The Hidden Symmetries exhibition is both a tribute to nature as a master of organised forms and of sophisticated complexity. With an artistic approach, it opens up a space for reflection on how humans could rebuild a more conscious relationship with it – also through textiles.
