Enrolment into bachelor studies
The first deadline for Slovenian citizens, Slovenians with secondary education abroad, citizens of member states of the European Union and Slovenians abroad will take place from 18 February 2026 to 18 March 2026.
The second application deadline will run from 20 to 27 August 2026 (available places will be published on 19 August on VPIS web site.
The first application deadline for foreign nationals from non-EU countries will take place from 18 February 2026 to 18 March 2026.
The second application deadline for foreign nationals from non-EU countries will be open on 2nd and 3rd September 2026 to candidates with the decision on the recognition of foreign secondary education issued during the first application period at the University of Ljubljana and are not enrolled in a study program after the selection process has been completed in this academic year. Additionally this application deadline is open to candidates:
- with a decision on the recognition of foreign secondary education, issued until 2005,
- with an international matura or a European matura,
- with a secondary school completed in the SFRY before 25 June 1991,
- with a decision on the recognition of foreign secondary education, issued by other universities and independent higher education institutions in Slovenia with permanent validity.
Interview for candidates from countries with a higher migration risk
Candidates who are citizens of countries with a higher migration risk and require visas to cross the external borders of the European Union must undergo an interview to determine their suitability for admission to the study programme in accordance with the entry requirements.
Candidates will receive more detailed information about the interview from the higher education institutions after the application deadline.

Year Plus
Within the framework of the Year Plus module, international students of 1st and 2nd cycle studies are able to learn Slovene. You have to be enrolled to study programmes of the University of Ljubljana. The application period for the Year plus 2026/27 will be published later.

Application is open from 1st April to 1st September 2026.
