I-P-4 (textile engineering) Advanced technologies in clothing – selected topics

Objectives of the course include: introduction to the newest approaches in technology and their limitations; automation, robotisation and informatisation of processes; expertise in advanced technologies and systems for fabric design and process control; expertise in specific technologies of mechanical after-treatment of fabrics; expertise in advanced methods and equipment for textile testing.
The content of the course comprises: advanced technologies for production of woven and knitted fabrics, knitwear and nonwovens; advanced systems for woven and knitted fabrics design, their possibilities and limitations; advanced control systems for weaving, knitting and nonwovens production; weaving preparation, warping and sizing; shed formation and weft insertion mechanisms; multiwave and multilinear weaving; planning unconventional knitted fabrics and knitwear; advanced auxiliary knitting technologies; modern technologies for manufacturing basic layers of nonwoven textiles; theory and technology of strengthening nonwovens; theory and modern technologies for manufacturing layer textiles, laminates and fibreform composites.
