CLEANTEX PARTNERSHIP HOLDS ITS FINAL MEETING WITH ALL ITS GOALS ACHIEVED!
Roubaix, January 12, 2023

On Thursday, January 12, 2023, the final meeting of the transnational consortium of the CLEANTEX project: A Clean and Innovative Strategy for the Circular Economy in Textiles took place in Roubaix, France. The meeting was hosted by the partner ENSAIT.

At the meeting, the intellectual outputs (IO) leaders reported on the results of the project:

IO1. Environment Park (Turin, Italy) presented the Virtual Training Program, a few months after its launch. This educational platform, available on the CLEANTEX website, is a MOOC (Massive Open Online Course). The content of the MOOC, created by the partners and related to sustainability and eco-design in the textile industry, is freely accessible to all interested stakeholders and can be used for learning or teaching.

IO2. ENSAIT (Roubaix, France) presented the latest version of the CLEANTEX Bootcamp, which was improved after being implemented with students at a CLEANTEX Summer School in Ljubljana, Slovenia, last summer. The Bootcamp consists of a dynamic learning experience composed of several phases that allow students to learn any content while practicing skills such as teamwork, creativity, initiative, oral expression, etc. This methodology can be applied to any subject.

IO3. LEITAT (Terrasa (Barcelona), Spain) presented an overview of the CLEANTEX e-book. It contains theory and methodology about LCA (Life Cycle Assessment), eco-design implementation, phases and criteria, and real examples of companies that have implemented sustainable models and measures in their processes.  It is an important resource for students during the implementation the Bootcamp.

Then, AEI Tèxtils (Terrasa, Barcelona) and Cre.Thi.Dev. (Athens, Greece) presented their evaluation of the project’s performance in terms of dissemination and quality aspects, both for the last semester and for the whole project duration (more than two years).

Finally, KTU gave the partnership some final notes on the completion of the management tasks, as well as some warm words of thanks for the work done by all partners throughout the period.

CLEANTEX PARTNERSHIP HOLDS ITS 4TH TRANSNATIONAL PROJECT MEETING

Turin, April 5. 2022 

On Tuesday, April 4, 2022, the fourth transnational consortium meeting of the CLEANTEX project: A Clean and Innovative Strategy for the Circular Economy in Textiles took place in Turin, Italy. The meeting was hosted by the partner ENVIRONMENT PARK. 

After an introductory speech by the host partner and coordinator of the project, Kaunas University of Technology from Lithuania, the leaders of Intellectual Outputs (IO) reported:  

IO1. Environment Park (Turin, Italy) presented the activities carried out in the framework of the construction of the MOOC CLEANTEX, which is in its final phase. The MOOC platform is expected to be completed by the end of May 2022. 

IO2. ENSAIT (Roubaix, France) presented a proposal for the structure of the Hackaton, which will take the form of a five-day Design Sprint during the CLEANTEX Summer School in Ljubljana, July 4–8, 2022. 

IO3. LEITAT (Terrasa (Barcelona), Spain) presented the structure of the e-book with practical examples of implementing circular economy and eco-design in textile companies. The e-book is scheduled to be prepared by June 15, 2022, so it will be available to the summer school participants. 

IR4. UL (Ljubljana, Slovenia) presented the programme of the CLEANTEX summer school and reported on the selection of students from three universities who will participate in the summer school. 

AEI TÈXTILS (Terrassa (Barcelona), Spain) reported on the recent updates to the project website and social media presence. 

Creative Thinking Development (Athens, Greece) presented the results of the quality analysis of the project and stressed that the work of the consortium was excellent. 

The meeting also set the date for the next transnational project meeting, which will take place in September 2022 in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

Press release from 3rd meeting of CLEANTEX project - 21. 10. 2021+

CLEANTEX PARTNERSHIP HOLDS ITS 3RD TRANSNATIONAL PROJECT MEETING
Terrassa (Barcelona), 21/10/2021

On Thursday, 21 October 2021, the CLEANTEX consortium met in person for its 3rd transnational project meeting with the goal to improve the sustainability and circular economy in the textile sector. The event took place in Terrassa (Barcelona) and was hosted by LEITAT.

The meeting started with a welcome by the hosting partner and the project coordinator, Kaunas University of Technology (KTU).

During the meeting, the heads of Intellectual Outputs (IO) reported on the activities carried out so far:

  • IO1. ENVIPARK presented the status of the virtual training programme, which includes the macrostructure (programme and methodology) and microstructure (content) of the Massive Online Open Course (MOOC), and gave all the necessary instructions to the partners for the development of the modules and the content of the units in the following months.
  • IO2. ENSAIT presented the first overview of the Textile Bootcamp, consisting of practical challenges and cases from the textile field for the students participating in the Summer School, which will take place in Ljubljana from 4 to 8 July 2022, hosted by the University of Ljubljana (UL).
  • IO3. LEITAT presented the e-book with practical cases on the application of LCA and eco-design in the modern textile industry, which will serve as a tool for trainers and students during the Summer School in Ljubljana.

AEI Tèxtils then informed the consortium about the development of the project’s social networks and website and gave some feedback on the partners’ communication activities.

The quality analysis of the project was prepared by Cre.Thi.Dev. It highlighted the correct work and functionality of the consortium and encouraged the partners to stay on this line.

Finally, a Q&A session was opened and the consortium set a tentative date for the next transnational project meeting in Turin.

Press release from 2nd meeting of CLEANTEX project - 28. 06. 2021+

SECOND TRANSNATIONAL MEETING OF THE CLEANTEX PROJECT WITH THE GOAL TO IMPROVE THE SUSTAINABILITY AND CIRCULAR ECONOMY IN THE TEXTILE SECTOR

On Monday 28 June, the second transnational project meeting of the CLEANTEX project took place in Athens, Greece. The meeting was hosted by the Cre.Thi.Dev partner. For the first time since the launch of the project, the meeting was held in a hybrid format, which allowed some of the partners to physically participate in the meeting.

During the meeting, the consortium discussed the next activities, including the preparation of the MOOC, the elaboration of the bootcamp training, and the organisation of the summer school. The partners also discussed measures to advance the dissemination of the project results, points on financial aspects and possible risks that could affect the project in order to anticipate and minimise them. They were also briefed on the findings of the interim report.

The next project meeting is scheduled for October 2021 in Terrassa, Spain.

Press release from Kick-off meeting of CLEANTEX project - 2. 11. 2020+

CLEANTEX – A NEW PROJECT THAT STARTS AIMED AT IMPROVING THE SUSTAINABILITY OF THE ADVANCED TEXTILE MATERIALS’ SECTOR
The kick-off meeting of CLEANTEX project was held virtually on Wednesday 4th November 2020, led by the project coordinator, Kaunas University of Technology (KTU).

CLEANTEX aims to promote the uptake of circular economy and eco-design concepts to improve the skills of students in textile engineering and workers in the sector through cross-sectoral cooperation in HEIs in order to tackle the main pollution problem in textile industry and reach a more sustainable sector. Moreover, CLEANTEX is aligned with the renewed Circular Economy Action Plan and the new Industrial Policy released on March 2020. In addition, CLEANTEX will also leverage the new European Commission textile policy by 2021.

CLEANTEX is co-financed by the ERASMUS+ program of the European Commission under the call for Strategic Partnerships for higher education, with the Grant Agreement number 2020-1-LT01-A203 -077874. The project started on November 1st 2020, it has a duration of 27 months and a total budget of 330.828 €.

The consortium is led by Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) as project coordinator from Lithuania, and it counts with the participation of AEI Tèxtils and LEITAT, both established in Terrassa; CRE.THI.DEV, in Greece; CIAPE and Environment Park, in Italy; University of Ljubljana, in Slovenia and Ecole Nationale Superieure d’Arts Industries Textiles, in France.

Key actions discussed in the meeting were the planning of the activities and the overall coordination. The next meeting of the consortium is scheduled in May 2021 in Greece.
