GENERAL INFORMATION+

Integration of Design and Technology (IDT), optional course

Summary of the subject contents: Supervised team work on a real project. Analysis and synthesis. Concrete design problems. Media. Production technologies. Visual communication. Visual identity concepts. Different media applications.

Subject Obligations+
  • Seminar and practical course should be attended on time.
  • Products must be delivered to agreed deadlines.
  • Parts of the subject require the presence of: Lectures 80%, Seminar 80%, Practical Course 90%.
  • In case of insufficient attendance, the course cannot be completed in the academic year 2021/2022.
  • The final grade of the subject (100%) is composed as follows:
    presence 20%, exam questions 10%, products 50%, presentation 20%.

Seminar+

Consultations take place on Thursdays between 6pm and 8pm according to schedule. 30 minutes are available for each group. The groups agree on the order at a certain date; at 6, 6.30, 7, 7.30 pm (P-006).

Project 1+

Hospic

Groups 1−3: Children who died during pregnancy or soon after birth (“Even if we haven’t seen you, it hurts”).
Groups 4−6: The right to say goodbye (“We didn’t have a chance.”).
Groups 7−9: The power of male mourning. (“There is power in vulnerability.”).
Groups 10−12: A tree for life. (“In your memory, I plant a tree.”).

Prepare the following on the topic assigned to your group:

  • Jumbo Poster (3000 × 4000 mm) | N = 1,
  • Poster (707×1000 mm) | N = 2,
  • Promotional mail material (210×99 / 99× 10 mm) | N = 100,
  • Brooch N = 100,
  • 3-piece leaflet (297 × 210 mm, open format) | N = 100,
  • Advertisement (radio) N = 1,
  • Advertisement (television) N = 1,
  • Banner (970 × 250 px)  | N = 1.

Presentation of the results of Project 1 on November 25th 2021.

3 different pro forma invoices should be prepared for all the products. The quantity is given at the end marked N.

The products of each group must be displayed on two posters of B1 format (707×1000 mm).

Project 2+

Consultation of Slovenian geologists (PSG)

In the group, prepare following:

  • Conference logo N = 1,
  • ID cards (89×54 mm) N = 100,
  • Invitation / flyer (210×99 / 99×210 mm) | N = 100,
  • Book of Abstracts (print/e-book) | N = 1,
  • Confirmation of participation in the conference (210×297 mm) | N = 100,
  • Template for powerpoint/keynote, word | N = 2,
  • Rolo poster (850×2000 mm) | N = 2,
  • Poster (707×1000 mm) | N = 2,
  • T-shirt (organizers) | N = 20,
  • Website proposal (basic layout – division into tabs visible at https://sites.google.com/geo.ntf.uni-lj.si/25-posvet-slo-geol) | N = 1.

Add the logo of the Department of Geology to the products (https://www.ntf.uni-lj.si/ntf/o-fakulteti/vizitka/).

Practical Course takes place on Fridays between 1 pm and 2.30 pm (R-304).

Final Assignment+

The final assignment consists of a report, a presentation and an oral exam

  • The report and presentation should have a uniform visual identity.
  • The report should be in the form of an e-book (pdf) and comprise up to 20 pages.
  • It presents an overview of the work on the subject.
  • At your own discretion and choice, you display important and interesting design levels in the report.
  • Give short comments next to the products.
  • The report includes offers for the implementation of printed matter, billing hours and financial report (hours spent, costs and final price).
  • The recommended report format is A5.

The report and presentation (both in pdf) must be uploaded to OneDrive (Izpit_IOT_21_22) by the day of exam. Files submitted to OneDrive should NOT contain printing marks (crop marks, bleed marks, registration marks, color bars, page information).
