Izzivi mednarodnih podjetij (03/2022)

Spoštovane sodelavke in sodelavci,

V tokratnem pregledu (novi izzivi):

PepsiCo: Seeking Novel Proposals To Improve Water Use Efficiency Both In Manufacturing And In Agriculture

  • ♨️ PepsiCo’s business depends on water, and as such, we have a vested interest, and responsibility, to conserve and protect it at all points along our value chain.
  • 💡 PepsiCo is seeking technology/approaches to improve water use efficiency both in manufacturing and in agriculture and to replenish the water used in manufacturing to local watersheds. Technologies/approaches addressing water usage in agriculture, the manufacturing process or the processing of waste-water will be considered. Solutions may also include atmospheric water generation or unlocking use of “source” water (improved RO, ZLD, inexpensive filtration).

Astellas Pharma: Novel Therapeutics Targeting Disease/Tissue-specific Macrophage Biology with a Focus on Regeneration and Clearance

  • 🩺 Astellas Pharma Inc. is seeking novel research programmes targeting disease/tissue-specific macrophage biology with a focus on regeneration and clearance.
  • 💡 The company is looking for solutions, fulfilling one or more of the following criteria:
    • Biology: Disease/tissue-specific macrophage, regeneration, clearance
    • Modality: Broad interest in all modalities, such as small molecules, antibodies, extracellular vesicle therapy, cell therapy, gene therapy, and targeted protein degradation approaches
    • Target disease: Immune-mediated diseases, peripheral and/or central neuroinflammatory disorders, autoimmune diseases, and hearing loss are prioritised. Highly creative proposals in other diseases are also within scope
    • Therapeutic target: Mechanism of action is proven or well-understood

Joyn Bio: Plant-Associated Microbes for Crop Care

  • 🌱 Joyn Bio is a company, solving the urgent agriculture challenges threatening our global food supply and environmental health using the combination of synthetic biology and beneficial microbes.
  • 💡 The company is seeking a unique library of microorganisms (Bacteria, Fungi, Yeast, or other unicellular organisms) which are capable of colonizing various plant tissues. Entries can include single strains or libraries of strains. Our selection will be based on the technical knowledge of the strain(s) and the provided rationale for colonization.

Sonoco: Additive for PET to Improve Chilled/Frozen Impact Strength

  • 🍦 Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) is a common thermoplastic resin used in rigid food packaging. To improve the impact resistance of PET, particularly for chilled/frozen temperature applications, polymeric additives such as ethylene methyl acrylate or ethylene n-butyl acrylate are commonly blended into the resin to improve the tensile properties to reduce breakage.
  • 💡 The company is seeking to find alternate impact modifiers that: i) provide excellent tensile and breakage resistance properties when blended at low concentrations (<5%) in PET, ii) can be sheet extruded or thermoformed iii) remain clear and impart a non-hazy, water-like appearance to be deemed acceptable in the PET recycling stream, iv) is approved or able to achieve approval by FDA, EFSA, or equivalent regulatory bodies for food contact applications. v) does not impede crystallized PET (CPET)

PepsiCo: Seeking Thermal Process Innovation For Energy Efficiency And Reduced GHG Emissions

  • ♨️ PepsiCo is seeking alternative heating methods to classical plate-and-frame heat exchangers to heat up liquid streams at a faster speed and/or higher efficiency, as well as lower the carbon emissions and greenhouse gases.
  • 💡 Proposed solutions should achieve one or more of the following objectives: • Faster heating ramp-up time compared to traditional heat exchangers. • Invoke equal to/less utilities than conventional plate and frame heat exchangers powered by steam generating boilers. • Decrease distribution losses – apply energy with higher efficiency to the processing liquid. • Net decrease in GHG emission from conventional natural-gas fired heating systems.

Colgate-Palmolive: Avoid and prevent anti-humidity/musty odor in clothes

  • 👃 Colgate-Palmolive is seeking an anti-humidity/musty odor technology that can kill and prevent the growth or neutralization of odors on surface of synthetic and natural fibers clothes. The technology needs to have the necessary regulatory certification to support claims around the prevention of growth of the musty microorganism on the clothes.
  • 💡 The company is looking for solutions, fulfilling the following criteria: Designed to fight the source of musty odor (geosmin, 2,4,6-trichloroanisole and 2-methylisoborneol). Have necessary regulatory certification to support claims. Have necessary regulatory certification to support claims. Cost effective.
